Very good condition. The painting was purchased in an attractive frame but the inner linen liner was significantly discolored. The frame was discarded to reduce the cost of shipping, as it would have needed re-framing by the new owner. The framed image is for demonstration only. The painting was likely executed in the 1950-60 period, and was perhaps painted to be reproduced as a print.
The subject of this painting is European, and it was attributed to Jean Madura by the previous owner. Several paintings signed Madura or Jean Madura, have appeared at auction, but all were unlike the work of this artist. Madura is probably a pseudonym used for the commercial art market.
