Excellent condition; reframed c. 1984. Part of my personal collection. One of three by this artist I purchased at auction in Edinburgh c. 1975, this is the only one I’ve retained. The best of the three was purchased by a relative prior to 1978 and is still enjoyed. This one is with my daughter and photographing it was a challenge I couldn’t entirely overcome. Light reflections on the glass required some digital enhancement, but the images adequately reflect the condition and quality of the watercolor.

Mary C. Davidson was 1) an Edinburgh artist who worked mostly in watercolor, painting landscapes in Scotland and France, and many flower pieces. Source – The Dictionary of Scottish Painting 1600-1960, Harris and Halsby. 2) an Aberdeenshire born painter of mainly watercolours who specialised in landscapes and flower studies. She was a friend of the artist Joseph Farquharson and painted with him in her earlier years. Elected RSW in 1936; exhibited 1906-1936 – GI 6, L 1, RA 1, RSA 24, RSW 44. – Various sources.
