Very good condition; a few minor surface abrasions – nothing to distract from the quality of the painting. This colorful painting awaits a new frame and wall space!

Charlotte Hoyt Desmond was the former Lady Samuel – widow of Sir John Samuel BT – later married to H. J. P. Desmond, a banker and amateur artist, who died in 1971. Her early art training took place in Canada and England, where she studied with the late Hayward Veal, the Australian impressionist painter. Her work has been shown in London exhibitions including the Royal Society of Marine Painters and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, and is represented in private collections in Britain, Canada, and the United States. Charlotte Hoyt-Desmond died in August 2006.
