Edward Vuillamy was the son of French parents, a Cambridge graduate and lecturer in language at the University. He was honorary Keeper of Pictures at the Fitzwilliam Museum and exhibited at the New English Art Club, The Fine Art Society, Walker’s Galleries, and the Chenil and Cooling galleries. Lived in Cambridge.
Draughtsman, watercolourist. Son of French parents. Read classics and modern languages at King’s College, Cambridge from 1895 when began to paint in watercolours, later became a lecturer in French and modern languages at the university. During WWI he served with the British Expeditionary Force in France and was a special constable in WWII. He exhibited extensively: at Walker’s Galleries, Fine Art Society, New English Art Club, Chenil and Cooling Galleries. He was Honorary Keeper of Pictures at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge until 1955. He lived in Cambridge. – Source: The British Museum.
